At Governors Walk we bring a new perspective to senior living. With various levels of care offered, residents/caregivers can personalize a la carte care options to fit their wants and needs.

Governors Walk strives to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for our residents while focusing on our four pillars of success:

Compassion | Dignity | Security | Respect

A Hidden Gem in a Neighbourhood Rivalled by Few Others

Governors Walk is nestled in Ottawa's famous New Edinburg Community, just south of Rockcliffe Park and directly across from Stanley Park. The area is known for it's easygoing lifestyle, picturesque streets and historical sites.

Governors Walk is proud to be a member of this tight knit community - we actively participate in community events that are geared towards our residents & treat our neighbours as if they were our extended family.

Chapel

Steeped deep in Canadian History, Governors Walk is easily one of Ottawa’s best kept hidden gems.

Still in use today, and run with multi-denomination services, our chapel once housed many of our residents services, baptisms and marriages!  Along with priceless memories you'll find irreplaceable art pieces; several Frescos painted by Ugo Chyurlia – an artist commissioned by the Franciscan Order to decorate the Monastery & St. Vincent de Paul Church.

We also have the famous New Edinburgh Clocktower that stands over the property.

Breathtaking Views Await You

Our third floor Rooftop Lounge is one of Governors Walk most defining features.

One you've made your way upstairs you are immediately greeted with breathtaking views of Stanley Park, Parliament and the beautifully quaint neighbourhood around you.

Our Rooftop Lounge is one of our most popular areas to read a book, work on a crossword puzzle, or simply take in the view and sounds of mother nature.

Sensory Murals

A unique feature of Metta Memory is the interactive element through our Sensory Murals. These are located in the neighbourhood's common areas that offer comforting memories with sensory activities that will be familiar, meaningful, and calming to our residents. Each of these sensory murals is designed to evoke familiar memories.

Our sensory murals focus on residents' memories from their homes. We've included an interactive gardening shed that offers gardening activities. There is also a 1950's kitchen and scenic view from a porch. Each sensory murals offers a variety of activities that engage the resident but also allows for interaction with family members.
